Kitchen furniture without compromise – how to design a kitchen that has it all!

How to decorate the kitchen?

A kitchen that includes everything you need and more, but doesn’t take up too much space – is that possible? With careful planning, anything can be achieved! You can design a great kitchen on any budget, but you need to know what you really shouldn’t compromise on. Here are 5 aspects that should always be the focus of your kitchen design.

1. Kitchen island

A kitchen island is the best thing to introduce into a kitchen space, if it can be made to work. The island is one of the most beautiful elements because of the advantages it offers. It can serve as an additional cooking surface, a dining table, extra storage space or simply as a design element. It is not uncommon for a kitchen island to be designed in other colours or with other materials.

2. Carefully considered storage solutions

It is not always necessary to fill the entire kitchen with 100 drawers and one drawer, which will be too small and not suitable for the utensils you need. That’s why, before designing the furniture, you need to carefully plan how many and where the cabinets, shelves, baskets, etc. will be placed. If you create a plan and stick to it, even in a more compact kitchen space, the furniture will not only look great, but also provide great functionality.

3. Lighting!

As in any room, it’s important that the lighting is both functional during the dark hours of the day, but also looks pleasant and complements the overall interior design of the kitchen. This is particularly demanded by the kitchen space, but the good thing is that lighting solutions take up virtually no space, so even in compact kitchens they should be optimised as much as possible.

4. Materials, colours and other design elements

What could be more important than this? We all know how much a colour palette influences the overall mood of a room, which is then multiplied or influenced by other elements such as wall panels, shelving, visible wood elements, etc. There are many factors to consider when choosing each element that you might not even think of at first. A good example is the choice of handles. Their design, how they fit in with the overall look of the kitchen furniture, the material they are made of and their shape are all important to make the handles easy to use for everyday tasks.

5. How to design a kitchen that won’t age

As tempting as it may be to chase the latest design trends, this is often not the preferred choice. Trends come and go, so in most cases I would recommend sticking to tried and tested values with a modern twist or a change in design nuances. You should take into account that the kitchen will definitely not be changed for at least the next 5-10 years or even longer, so design choices for kitchen furniture should be made accordingly.

A spacious kitchen that includes all the appliances you need and gives you space to store everything you need is every culinary enthusiast’s dream, but kitchen space often seems to be an obstacle. Hopefully these suggestions will help you to overcome this barrier and make your next project even better than expected!
